Metro In Dino Trailer: Love, Confusion, And Second Chances In Anurag Basu’s Modern Romance Saga

Metro In Dino trailer: The trailer of ‘Metro… In Dino’, Anurag Basu’s latest film, is finally out, offering a deeper glimpse into the emotional fabric of this much-anticipated multi-narrative drama. Following the recent release of the song “Zamaana Lage,” the trailer builds on the promise of a soulful exploration of love, heartbreak, and human connection in the chaos of urban life.

About Metro… In Dino

Directed by Basu, the film brings together an impressive cast that includes Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee. The narrative unfolds through four distinct love stories across generations — young lovers navigating uncertainty, middle-aged couples confronting emotional distance, and older characters rediscovering passion in the twilight years of their lives.

Serving as a spiritual successor to Basu’s 2007 hit Life in a… Metro, the film echoes his signature storytelling style — interlinked plots bound by shared emotion and a deep connection to the cityscape they inhabit. With Metro… In Dino, he continues his exploration of love in its many stages and contradictions.

Metro… In Dino trailer

The trailer opens with slices of everyday Mumbai — trains, traffic, and fleeting glances — interspersed with intimate moments between each couple. Aditya Roy Kapur plays a man struggling with emotional maturity and commitment, while Sara Ali Khan’s character is caught between loyalty and desire, already engaged to someone else. Konkona Sen Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi portray a couple confronting the erosion of affection over time. Meanwhile, Ali Fazal and Fatima Sana Shaikh are seen wrestling with the realities of an unplanned pregnancy. Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta, paired with Saswata Chatterjee in a delicate triangle, bring complexity and tenderness to a late-in-life love story.

The background score by Pritam, with vocals by Papon, adds a melancholic beauty to the trailer, much like his celebrated work in ‘Life in a… Metro’. Music, once again, becomes the heartbeat of Basu’s storytelling.

Anurag Basu on Metro In Dino

Speaking about the project, Basu shared, “Metro In Dino is a tale of the people and for the people! The storyline is very fresh and relevant as I look forward to collaborating with amazing artists who bring that essence of contemporary aura with them. As music plays a very important role in any film, I couldn’t be happier to be collaborating with my dear friend Pritam who has literally added life to the characters and story with his work.”

Produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner, ‘Metro… In Dino’ is the concluding installment in Basu’s trilogy of interconnected urban tales, following ‘Life in a… Metro’ and ‘Ludo’. The film is slated for a theatrical release on July 4, and promises to be a rich, emotional journey about the many ways love lives — and dies — in a modern city.
