Filmmaker Anees Bazmee has finally set the record straight on the speculation surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s departure from ‘No Entry 2’. The sequel to the 2005 comedy blockbuster has been generating buzz ever since it was announced, particularly because of its new star-studded cast, which includes Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and initially, Diljit.
Originally slated to go on floors in March this year, the film’s shoot hit an unexpected pause due to scheduling adjustments. Shortly after, rumours began circulating that Diljit had exited the project due to creative disagreements. But Anees Bazmee has now clarified that this is far from the truth.

In a recent chat with India Today, Bazmee shared that he had met Diljit only twice for brief discussions. “He was actually quite eager to be a part of it,” the director shared, explaining that Diljit had agreed to join the cast after a short script narration that lasted no more than 10 minutes.
However, when pressed about the singer-actor’s exit from the film, Bazmee attributed it entirely to logistical hurdles. “He did want to do the film, but when I met him recently, we realised there was an issue with the dates. No Entry 2 is going to be a very big film with a huge cast and crew. There are so many actors, and it’s important for us that everyone can come together.”
Bazmee hopeful of Diljit being part of No Entry
Despite the setback, the director remains optimistic. Bazmee said the production team is still working on aligning schedules and that Diljit could very well rejoin the cast if things fall into place. “I think they are figuring out the dates, and I am hopeful it will work out. But whatever happens, it will be for the good. I have that faith for sure,” he added.
A long journey with Boney Kapoor
The film is being produced by Boney Kapoor, who also backed the original No Entry. Speaking about his collaboration with the veteran producer, Bazmee shared, “I have been with Boney ji (producer Boney Kapoor) for 7-8 years now, working on this film. We have seen many ups and downs, but we are on it. I am the kind of person who sticks to his commitment. And when there’s love, you don’t think of loss and profit. You just want to be together and make a good film. And trust me, it is going to be a beautiful film and a lot of fun. It’s still on paper, so many will not know, but I can assure you it’s an amazing story.”
About No Entry 2
Unlike its predecessor, which featured Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Fardeen Khan, No Entry 2 brings in a new trio. The change reportedly didn’t go down well with everyone—Boney Kapoor had previously acknowledged that his brother Anil Kapoor was unhappy about being left out of the sequel.
