This is not the first time that Gambhir has received threats from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. ‘ISIS Kashmir’ sent at least two threat emails to Gambhir in 2021, when he was an MP.
The threat comes immediately after the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 Indians. Gambhir was among the sporting personalities who slammed the dastardly terrorist attack. He said: “Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike.”
Gambhir submitted his complaint to the Rajinder Nagar Police Station. In his complaint, he said that he had received two emails, both reading: “IKillU”.
Notably, ISIS Jammu & Kashmir, or Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir, was a terror organisation in the Union Territory that was active till 2019. It was not recognised by the IS. Not much is known about ‘ISIS-Kashmir’, though.
