The biggest name missing out from the list is Ravichandran Ashwin, as the legendary bowling all-rounder announced his international retirement during India’s Tour Down Under, which ended in pure embarrassment for Rohit Sharma’s side, as Australia clinched the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1.
There are four grades in BCCI’s central contract, and the players are paid accordingly.
Here’s a look at it:
- Grade A+: INR 7 crore
- Grade A: INR 5 crore
- Grade B: INR 3 crore
- Grade C: INR 1 crore
As the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli feature in the Grade A+ category of contract, therefore, they will be paid INR 7 crore.
India are not in action until June, where the side leave for England to contest a five-match Test series, thus, embarking their World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
The 2021 & 2023 Finalists failed to make into the 2025 Final, and will be aiming to better that feat in the upcoming cycle.
