The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has handed a one-year ban to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for pulling out of the 2025 season after being selected in the player draft. Bosch, who was a diamond pick for Peshawar Zalmi, later joined Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as an injury replacement for another South African cricketer Lizaad Williams.
Due to the scheduling conflict between the PSL and IPL this year, Corbin Bosch withdrew from the PSL, leading the PCB to issue him a legal notice for an alleged breach of contract. In a statement on its official website, the PCB mentioned that Bosch had “expressed his regrets” over pulling out and confirmed that he will not be allowed to take part in the 11th edition of the league in 2026.

Interestingly, Bosch is yet to make his debut for Mumbai Indians this season. Although he has been listed several times among the substitutes, he hasn’t officially appeared in a match — not even as an Impact Player.
“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said in a statement released by the PCB.
“The HBL PSL is a prestigious tournament and I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down. “I take full responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the HBL PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the HBL PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans,” the South African cricketer added.
