Chaitra Navratri 2025: Chaitra Navratri 2025 has commenced today, Sunday, March 30. According to the Hindu Panchang, the auspicious festival begins on the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month. The Pratipada Tithi starts on March 29, 2025, at 4:27 PM and ends on March 30, 2025, at 12:49 PM, marking March 30 as the first day of Navratri. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga.

During this nine-day festival, devotees worship all nine forms of Goddess Durga, from Shailputri to Siddhidatri. They observe fasting, perform Kalash Sthapana, recite the Durga Saptashati, and conduct morning and evening aarti. On Ashtami or Navami, the ritual of Kanya Pujan and Havan is performed, where nine young girls are worshipped and offered food.

Chaitra Navratri Concludes With Ram Navami:

The final day of Chaitra Navratri is celebrated as Ram Navami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. On this sacred occasion, devotees offer special prayers, recite the Ramayana, chant bhajans and kirtans, and seek divine blessings from Lord Ram. Temples witness grand celebrations, including processions showcasing tableaux of Shri Ram’s birth.

This year, Chaitra Navratri is accompanied by an auspicious astrological combination, making it even more significant for devotees seeking spiritual and material prosperity.

Ghatasthapana Muhurat For Chaitra Navratri 2025:

The most auspicious time for Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana) is between 6:13 AM to 10:21 AM on March 30, 2025. Additionally, the Abhijit Muhurat falls between 12:00 PM to 12:50 PM.

Duration Of Chaitra Navratri 2025:

According to the Hindu Panchang, Chaitra Navratri 2025 will begin on March 30 (Sunday) and conclude on April 6 (Sunday). However, due to changes in the lunar calendar, Ashtami and Navami will fall on the same day, making this year’s Navratri an eight-day celebration. Ram Navami will also be observed on the same day. It is believed that worshipping Goddess Durga with devotion during these sacred days fulfills all desires.

Chaitra Navratri Puja Rituals:

  • Take a bath early in the morning and wear clean clothes. Purify the puja space with Gangajal (holy water).
  • Sow barley seeds in a clay pot and place a water-filled Kalash over it.
  • Decorate the Kalash with mango leaves and place a coconut on top. Install an idol or picture of Goddess Durga at the puja site.
  • Offer rice, vermillion, red flowers, fruits, sweets, incense sticks, and lamps to the Goddess.
  • Recite Durga Chalisa and perform the aarti of Goddess Durga.
  • Conclude the puja by offering sattvic (pure vegetarian) food as bhog to the Goddess.
