Chaitra Navratri 2025 Day 1: Chaitra Navratri 2025 begins on Sunday, March 30. On the first day of Navratri, Maa Shailputri, the first among the Navdurga, is worshipped. She is called ‘Shailputri’ as she is the daughter of the Himalayas.

Puja Vidhi Of Maa Shailputri
- On the first day of Navratri, take a vow of fasting in your mind after bathing and cleansing.
- On the first day of Navratri, perform Ghatasthapana. It is considered auspicious to do it during the designated auspicious time.
- First, invoke Lord Ganesha in the temple.
- After this, offer a red flower to Maa Shailputri.
- Offer Akshat (rice), sindoor, incense, fragrance, and flowers to Maa Shailputri.
- Chant the mantras of Maa Shailputri.
- Recite the story of Maa Shailputri.
- Perform the aarti of Maa Shailputri.
- Offer Maa Shailputri her favourite bhog.
Kalash Sthapana Muhurat
On the first day of Chaitra Navratri, the auspicious time for Kalash Sthapana is from 6:13 AM to 10:22 AM. During this period, you can perform the ritual. The Abhijit Muhurat is from 11:59 AM to 12:49 PM. In total, there will be two Muhurats lasting 4 hours and 40 minutes.
Bhog Offered To Maa Shailputri
Maa Shailputri loves the colour white. Therefore, on the first day of Navratri, offer white food items as bhog. You can offer kheer or white barfi to please her, as this offering brings her great joy.
