John Abraham’s The Diplomat is maintaining a steady run at the box office after a decent start. Inspired by the real-life story of Indian diplomat JP Singh and Uzma Ahmed, the film hit theatres on Friday and received positive reviews. Strong word-of-mouth has further contributed to its stable performance in cinemas.

According to Sacnilk, the film opened on Friday (Holi holiday) with a collection of ₹4 crore. While it witnessed a growth in earnings on Saturday, the increase wasn’t drastic, with the film collecting ₹4.65 crore—marking a 16.25 percent rise. The numbers remained steady on Sunday at ₹4.65 crore, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹13.30 crore. On Sunday, The Diplomat recorded an overall 19.61 percent occupancy in the Hindi market.

Compared to other 2025 Bollywood releases, The Diplomat has performed fairly well. It has surpassed the opening weekend collections of several films, including Crazxy (₹3.75 crore), Superboys of Malegaon (₹1.82 crore), Mere Husband Ki Biwi (₹4.45 crore), Badass Ravi Kumar (₹6.15 crore), Loveyapa (₹4.55 crore), and Emergency (₹10.35 crore).

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which has been running in theatres for a month, continues to challenge new releases, including The Diplomat. On its fifth Sunday, Chhaava collected ₹8 crore, significantly higher than The Diplomat’s ₹4.65 crore.
