Significance Of Rang Panchami:

According to religious texts, Rang Panchami symbolizes the triumph of purity (Sattva Guna) over passion (Rajas Guna) and darkness (Tamas Guna). The festival is deeply rooted in spiritual beliefs and is considered an auspicious occasion.

Why Is Rang Panchami Celebrated?

Rang Panchami falls on the fifth day of the Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Chaitra. It is believed that on this day, deities descend to Earth to participate in the festival of colors and fulfill the wishes of their devotees. Since divine beings are said to exist in an ethereal form, colors are thrown into the air as an offering to invite them to play Holi. According to belief, playing Holi with the deities on Rang Panchami brings joy and dispels sorrows.

Every year, Rang Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day after Dhulendi, the main festival of colors. In 2025, Rang Panchami will be observed on March 19. The festival is also known as Shri Panchami or Dev Panchami in some regions.
