The film has been given a UA 16+ rating, and its certified length is 179.52 minutes. ‘Empuraan’ is the sequel to the highly successful ‘Lucifer’, which became a massive hit. Prithviraj Sukumaran not only directs the film but also reprises his role as Zayed Masood, a mercenary commando leading the infamous Kureshi-Ab’ram nexus in the Lucifer series.

In a previously released video, Prithviraj hinted at how the sequel would expand on the complex world introduced in ‘Lucifer’. He mentioned that ‘Empuraan’ would introduce more characters and settings, while maintaining a cohesive narrative. “The complexity of the story will increase, but we believe that the essence of the film will stay intact, and we hope viewers will experience the same when they watch it,” he said.

Reflecting on the conclusion of ‘Lucifer’, Prithviraj recalled how audiences were left with the impression that no force could challenge the Kureshi-Ab’ram underworld empire. He teased, “Was that belief true, or was it just an illusion?”
