Lauren Down has failed to recover in time, and has now been replaced by 20-year-old Izzy Sharp, who is an uncapped player from the franchise of Canterbury Magicians.
“We’re all really disappointed for Lauren to be ruled out of the series. Unfortunately injuries are part of the game we wish her a speedy recovery. It does provide an exciting opportunity for Izzy to join the group in Nelson for these last two matches and we’re looking forward to welcoming her,” said Ben Sawyer.

New Zealand Women bowler Bree Illing made her ODI debut during her side’s first ODI against Sri Lanka, and she capped-off her maiden international match with the figures of 2/42.
