Here’s What Glenn Maxwell Said On His Historic Knock
Glenn Maxwell (Player of the Match):
“Terrific. I’m shocked. Obviously, it was quite hot when we were fielding. I didn’t do much high-intensity training in the heat and it got to me. It was good to stick out till the end. Not too much to be honest. Just stick to our batting plans. I was trying to be positive and take them on. If I had defended all the way, I would have lost my wicket. That Ibw call as well and I decided to go after the bowling.”
“We saw some swing and a nip around under lights as it always happens throughout this tournament. They did well to put us on the backfoot and the spinners also bowled well straightaway. It would have been good if it was chanceless. But I had the charm. I have had those innings before where I get the chance and I score. But to be there with Patty at the end was good.”
“Amazing. After the first two games, everyone was quick to rub us off. But we had the belief in the changing room and today, we were ready for the challenge. Happy to get to the semi-finals.”
