In India’s final group stage match against New Zealand, Virat Kohli has a golden opportunity to rewrite history by surpassing Shikhar Dhawan as India’s highest run-scorer in Champions Trophy.

Shikhar Dhawan currently holds the record for the most runs by an Indian in Champions Trophy history, scoring 701 runs in just 10 innings at an average of 77.88, including three centuries.

Virat Kohli, with 651 runs in 14 innings at a remarkable average of 93, is just 52 runs away from breaking this record.

Also, with only five runs, Virat will surpass Sourav Ganguly (665 runs in 11 innings) to become the second-highest run-getter for India in the tournament.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 100 off 111 balls against Pakistan was a masterclass in pressure handling. His innings, decorated with seven boundaries, saw him take charge and lead India to a six-wicket victory.

As India prepares to face New Zealand, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli to see if he can achieve yet another landmark in his illustrious career.
