
The Indian captain became the fastest opener to score 9,000 runs in ODIs, surpassing Sourav Ganguly’s record.

Rohit Sharma reached the 9,000-run mark in just 181 innings, making him the sixth opener in ODI history to achieve this feat.

In comparison, Saurav Ganguly had taken 236 innings. With this achievement, Rohit joins an elite list of legendary openers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Chris Gayle, Adam Gilchrist, and Sourav Ganguly.

Rohit Sharma looked in great touch in IND vs PAK CT 2025 match, scoring 20 runs off 15 balls, including three fours and a six. However, his stay at the crease was cut short when he was bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Rohit Sharma’s ODI record: The senior opener has played 270 ODIs for India, scoring 11,905 runs at an average of 48.89 and a strike rate of 92.81. His career includes 32 centuries, 57 half-centuries, and a record three double centuries, making him the only batter to achieve this feat in ODIs.
