On the second day of ABP Network’s Ideas of India 2025 Summit, the young fitness enthusiast and experts gave some practical tips on staying healthy, both physically and mentally in a demanding world like ours.Â
On Diet
When Chetan Bhagat asked about how a regular middle-class person can maintain a sense of portion-control and discipline while eating, Krishna Shroff and Nikita Dutta had several interesting tips to share. Krishna shared that she does not like to leave her body craving. “So if you want to have that gulab jamun, preferably freshly prepared, have one and go for a 10 minute walk afterward.”
Krishna also shared that after having tried all sorts of fad diets and trends, she had figured that what worked best for her was portion control. However, Tiger Shroff’s sister did say, “It got me some time to get here,” Krishna seems to have finally figured out that portion control including her favourite foods throughout the week in her food works best for her rather than opting for one specific cheat day.Â
Meanwhile, Nikita Dutta admitted that she has not had biscuits, instant noodles for more than 13 years now and that has made a huge difference in everything. She also agreed with Krishna and added that moderation is everything.Â
On Exercise
When Chetan Bhagat pointed out how so many exercises in the domain tend to confuse people and what would be the best form to adopt, both Krishna and Nikita agreed that experimenting a little with everything to see what suits you best is the right kind of approach.Â
Krishna also broke the myth of weight training to add that many women feel that the form of exercise will make you bulky but that is far from truth. “Twenty years from now, your body will thank you because muscle building is key to longetivity.”
Sleep & Mental Health
Both Krishna and Nikita emphasised the importance of doing small things like turning off phones an hour before bedtime to establish a healthy sleeping routine involving less stimulation. The two also emphasised the need of taking mental ad physical aspect of well-being together, and seeing fitness and mental health as deeply personal and unique for each person and nothing to compete with.Â
