Shubman’s consistency in the ongoing IND vs ENG ODI series has been remarkable, having scored 87 runs in the first ODI in Nagpur and 60 in the second match in Cuttack.
Gill’s stellar performances have also helped him climb to second place in the ICC ODI batting rankings, overtaking Indian captain Rohit Sharma. He now has 781 rating points, while Rohit stands at 773.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Babar Azam is on the verge of another historic feat. If he scores at least 33 runs in Pakistan’s Tri-Nation Series match against South Africa, he will become the fastest batter to reach 6000 runs in ODI cricket.
