BP Signs MoU With EIL To Collaborate On Oil, Gas, And Refining Projects At India Energy Week


India Energy Week 2025: Global oil giant, BP has signed an agreement with Engineers India Ltd (EIL) to collaborate on identifying capabilities that will support oil, gas, and refining activities, the two companies announced on Tuesday.

BP, a vertically integrated international energy company, operates across all sectors of the oil and gas industry, including exploration, extraction, refining, distribution, marketing, power generation, and trading. EIL is a comprehensive engineering consultancy that offers design, engineering, procurement, construction, and integrated project management services, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards from concept to commissioning.

MoU Validity 

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during the India Energy Week (IEW) in Delhi. The MoU is valid for three years, during which both companies have agreed to collaborate in the identified areas.

“As per the MoU, joint working teams will be formed to discuss other opportunities/ projects that will contribute to technical support for BP’s global assets across its refining, terminals and pipelines, oil and gas and offshore/subsea portfolio. Opportunities in other energy vectors may also be added as future scope,” the two firms said in a statement.

About India Energy Week

The third edition of the India Energy Week started on Tuesday and will wrap up on Friday, February 14 in New Delhi. Funded by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, the event is jointly organised by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) and DMG events.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event virtually on Tuesday. “In the last 10 years, we have increased our solar energy generation capacity thirty-two times. Today India is the third largest solar power generating nation in the world. Our non-fossil fuel energy capacity has increased three times. India is the first country among G-20 nations to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement,” PM Modi said during his speech. 

This global event served as a platform for the global energy industry, with energy leaders, policymakers, and innovators from across the globe participating in the conference.
