MS Dhoni holds the record for captaining India in the most ODIs (200), leading the team to numerous victories, including the 2011 World Cup win.

Virat Kohli, before passing the leadership to Rohit Sharma, captained India in 95 ODIs and maintained an impressive record.

List of India’s Most-Capped ODI Captains: MS Dhoni – 200 matches, Mohammad Azharuddin – 174 matches, Sourav Ganguly – 146 matches, Virat Kohli – 95 matches, Rahul Dravid – 79 matches, Kapil Dev – 74 matches, Sachin Tendulkar – 73 matches, Rohit Sharma – 50* matches, Sunil Gavaskar – 37 matches and Dilip Vengsarkar – 18 matches.

If India secures victory in IND vs ENG 2nd ODI, captain Rohit Sharma will surpass Sourav Ganguly to become India’s fourth most successful captain across all formats.

Currently, both Rohit and Ganguly have 97 wins, but Rohit has reached this milestone in just 135 matches compared to Ganguly’s 195.
