For her budget presentation today, Sitharaman arrived at the Parliament complex wearing a white silk saree with golden border and madhubani artwork on the golden border, pairing it with red blouse. She carried the ‘bahi-khata’ a tablet wrapped in a red cloth embossed with the national emblem.
In her previous budget session 2024, she chose a white and magenta silk saree, featuring golden motifs on the magenta border.
During the interim budget session of the Modi government’s second term, she opted a blue tussar silk handloom saree. This silk is known for its coarse texture and golden sheen.
In 2023, Sitharam wore a red temple border saree with a black border and intricate golden work. Temple sarees are often made of cotton or silk which are traditionally worn for special occasions.
