Know How To Prepare Instant Jalebi At Home


Jalebi is a comfort-dessert popular on the Indian subcontinent proves gift for all occasions. Ingredients

  • 1 Cup FOR SUGAR SYRUP: Sugar
  • 180 Milliliter Water
  • Half Lemon Juice
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Saffron Strands
  • 1 Cup FOR JALEBI: Refined Flour
  • 0.25 Cup Yogurt
  • 1 Teaspoon Vinegar
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Ghee or Oil (For deep frying)

Cooking Instructions

FOR SUGAR SYRUP: Put sugar in a small saucepan, add water and place it on medium flame.

Once sugar gets dissolved, put lemon juice in it and stir well till it turns to a tendril-like consistency.

Put saffron, mix, and switch off the flame. Keep aside to be used later.

FOR JALEBI BATTER: Take refined flour in a pot, mix it properly with baking powder, vinegar, and yogurt, set it aside for 5-7 minutes.

Slowly add ½ cup water through jerks, mix until no lumps are formed.

Whip it well for 2 minutes to create optimum air in the prepared batter.

FOR JALEBI: Pouch the prepared charge in a pastry bag or squeeze bottle with the nozzle if available.

Heat up oil in a deep, wide pan to fry the jalebis and swirl the batter into spiral-like circular patterns outward to the innermost circle.

Fry the jalebis till it becomes golden brown and take them out of the oil straight into the sugar syrup.

Leave the jalebis in the syrup for 3-4 minutes. Take them out and place on a serving plate.

Repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve hot with jalebis.
