Champions Trophy 2025: India’s Best Playing XI For CT 2025

India strongest squad for Champions Trophy 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (January 18) announced the Indian squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on January 18, with Rohit Sharma set to lead the team. All matches will take place in Dubai, and India’s first clash will be against Bangladesh on February 20. The team has been selected with Dubai’s conditions in mind.

With ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just weeks away, let’s have a look at India’s best playing XI for CT 2025.

Opening Pair: Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are expected to open the batting. This pair has been consistent in ODIs for years, including standout performances in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Yashasvi Jaiswal may miss out on the first match, with both Rohit and Gill likely to take center stage.

Middle Order: Virat Kohli is expected to bat at number 3, a position where he has been highly successful. Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya will likely fill out the middle order. All-rounder Hardik, having shown excellent form in domestic cricket (Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy), will be crucial for India’s middle-order stability.

Bowling Attack: Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are the likely choices for spin duties due to their impressive recent form. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are versatile spin-batting all-rounders, while Kuldeep Yadav is expected to serve as the team’s primary spin specialist. India will also rely on senior pace bowlers Mohammad Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah to deliver with the ball.

India’s strongest playing XI for ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami.
