Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025: Tata Harrier, Sierra EV To Have AWD Dual Motors, Rival XEV 7e

Auto Expo 2025: The new development in the world of EVs is dual motor or AWD. Currently, Tata Motors has the largest range of electric cars but soon it will increase its range further with a range of dual motor offerings.

Currently, the Tata EVs have a single motor but the upcoming Harrier EV and the Sierra EV have a dual motor layout. The Harrier EV, in its production form, will be displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. And it will have dual motors too.

Dual Motor Advantage

With dual motors, the Harrier EV would be the first Tata Motors EV with AWD. With dual motors, the Harrier EV could sport a power output of more than 260bhp. It would be the most powerful Tata Motors car. The Sierra EV would also have a dual motor configuration while the power output could be lower.

The Harrier EV in its dual motor form would be for the top-end trim while the other trims could get the single motor layout. The battery pack could be 60kwh for the base version while the top-end could have a larger battery pack.

The Harrier EV will be based on a modular EV architecture just like the Punch EV and the Curvv EV. Even the Sierra EV will have the same architecture which will mean more space and better packaging plus a frunk at the front. The Harrier EV will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XEV 7e amongst others.

It seems that the new battleground for EVs is now moving toward more premium zones.
