Pulling off a maximalist look requires a delicate balance of elements, and for ace designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, it’s second nature. Recently, they chose Tamannaah Bhatia as their muse, dressing her in a breathtakingly embellished Bandhani kurta paired with a dupatta and a crushed silk skirt.
Crushed silk has been a hallmark of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s designs for over three decades. In a press statement, the designers elaborated on their signature fabric, saying, “Pure silk has a natural element of starch in it, and it is this very detail that enables the crushed fabric to retain its texture. We have always and only used the purest of all materials for our creations.”
Tamannaah’s kurta featured a round neckline and intricate gold embroidery, embellishing the bodice and short sleeves.
The tasselled hemline of the kurta added an extra touch of opulence.
To balance the maximalism, the kurta was paired with a matching red crushed silk skirt and a Bandhani dupatta adorned with similar gold embroidery.
The ensemble, inspired by Mughal Sehra, was handcrafted with rubies, pearls, and emeralds, complemented by Gota, sequins, and antique Zardozi work.
