Best Of CES 2025: Smart Mirrors, Pint-Sized Supercomputer, More Wonders Unveiled

CES 2025: The curtains have come down on the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) at Las Vegas. And as always, the show saw literally hundreds of products being unveiled and showcased from some of the biggest brands in the business as well as rank newcomers. But only a few of these stood out from the crowd.

So as we come to the end of CES 2025, here is our look at six products that stole the show:

Withings Omnia: Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Healthiest Of Us All?

Perhaps no product caught the attention and imagination of the world at CES 2025 like Withings’ futuristic health tech concept called Omnia. The Omnia is a smart mirror that can literally measure and display health information when you stand in front of it. It also has an AI assistant to give you advice on your report and even arrange a consultation with a doctor if needed.

Making the magic happen is the base of the mirror which can measure weight, heart rate and even metabolic health, and can also be synchronised with other fitness trackers and equipment like smartwatches, blood pressure machines and smart beds.

You just stand in front of the mirror and it displays all your health data, gives advice and even lets you make a video call to a doctor. Sounds too good to be true? Some cynics are already raising their eyebrows at whether Omnia will ever be a proper product, but given Withings’ excellent track record, we sure hope it will.

Nvidia Project Digits: Pint-Sized Supercomputer

Most of the chip manufacturers announced new processors and products at CES 2025, but there was no question about which one stole the spotlight – it was Nvidia’s Project Digits. A PC that is about the size of a Mac Mini, Digits actually packs in enough power to be considered a supercomputer.

It runs on the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, enabling it to handle AI models with as many as 200 billion parameters, and comes with a staggering 128 GB of RAM and up to 4 TB of storage.

The computer is designed for AI researchers, developers and data scientists and could revolutionise AI as it places an enormous amount of processing power in a compact form factor. It has a starting price of $3,000.

Samsung Vision AI For TV: A Galaxy Of Understanding

The event saw a number of televisions being showcased. But our favourite TV product was actually not a product, but Samsung’s proposed vision AI for its televisions, which promises to revolutionise the way in which we watch television.

A special search feature will not only let you identify the actors on screen, but also the location, and there is Samsung Food, which not only recognises the food on screen but also gives you its recipes.

Also coming to the Samsung TV world is Live Translate (seen on Samsung flagship phones) which can translate live broadcasts in seven options, and AI Home Security, which allows you to use your TV like a security hub, analysing feeds from connected security cameras.

Bixby is also being improved to make it more TV-friendly.

TCL 60 XE NXTpaper: Kindle & Phone Rolled Into One

TCL surprised everyone at CES 2025 with its 60 XE NXTpaper smartphone. The phone comes with a large 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, which is unlike any that has been seen on a smartphone. That’s because hitting a special slider on the side of the changes the display from a routine LCD to an e-ink-like display, with an almost paper-like appearance (Max Ink mode, in TCL’s words).

Making this possible is TCL’s NXTpaper technology, which lets you switch between a normal phone and something that is very like an e-book reader mode, with very few notifications.

If you use it only in Max Ink mode, you will get a staggering one week of battery life from it. The phone also comes with a special anti-glare coating that reduces reflections, and best of all is priced at a very reasonable $199.

Not bad for having a smartphone and Kindle rolled into one. We hope to see it in India someday, the sooner the better.

HMD OffGrid: Who Needs Network To Message?

HMD is known for its innovative smartphones, but it turned heads in Vegas this year with a mobile phone accessory. This was a dongle called OffGrid. As its name indicates, it allows your smartphone to send messages even when it is out of mobile network reach (when it is “off the grid,” so to speak), by connecting users to satellites.

It also allows live location tracking for up to five people. This makes it perfect for those who travel to remote areas, and an asset for rescue efforts in areas where the mobile network is poor.

The OffGrid is very compact (just 3.7 inches long and about 60 grams in weight), can easily be carried in a pocket, and is designed for extreme environments, with an IP68 rating, and three-day battery life. It works with Android phones and iPhones and is priced at $200, with an additional USD 80 for an annual subscription.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable: Roll Out A Bigger Display

Dual displays on notebooks might have been a thing in 2024, but Lenovo put a spin on the “larger display on a notebook” concept by showing the rather elaborately named ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable notebook.

It seems to be a normal high-end notebook with a 14-inch display, powered by the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors and with up to 32 GB RAM, until you actually extend the display to 16.7 inches by extending it.

In essence, this gives you access to an optional larger display within a compact form factor (it is not even an inch thick), letting you switch between a normal-sized display and a larger one. Its price has not been revealed yet, but we bet there will be plenty of takers for it when it is rolled out. Pun intended.
